our statement of faith
This doctrinal statement of faith governs the teaching at FREEDOM FELLOWSHIP
SCRIPTURE - We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible authoritative Word of God, inerrant in the original writings.
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16
GOD - We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
FATHER - We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men. He hears and answers prayer. He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Christ.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in
the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made
that was made." John 1:1-3
JESUS CHRIST - We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He is fully human and fully God; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His atonement through His shed blood and death; in His bodily resurrection. (1Cor. 15:1-11); in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; in His personal return in power and glory. (Rev. 19)
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
HOLY SPIRIT - We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement (John 16:8-10) and to redeem, sanctify, and empower for His purpose, all who, through faith, believe in Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord and Savior. We believe Jesus Christ baptizes the born-again believer with the Holy Spirit and power for service, which is a separate work from the indwelling Spirit for salvation. We believe the Holy Spirit seals the born-again believer for the day of redemption. (Eph. 4:30) (2 Cor.1:22)
MANKIND AND SALVATION - We believe all people are by nature separated from God and responsible for their own sin (Eph. 2:4-10) but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe Jesus saves us from eternal separation from God in hell which is the result of rejection of Jesus' offer of the free gift of salvation; we also believe in a literal heaven and all those who place their faith and trust in Jesus will spend eternity there with the Lord. We adhere to the biblical teaching of God's sovereignty and man's responsibility. Teaching the Word of God for application in daily life.
